The Story Behind the Photo: I was working with a film crew on the road for a big show on NBC. That year, I traveled to 32 states and saw more of my country in 8 months than my entire life - it was a genuinely rad experience with four amazing people. In between filming, we would have down days. This photo was taken while I explored the beautiful Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado.
At first, it was just me and my camera, but I made friends. A veteran who just had spine surgery joined me for some of the trials. He was housesitting for some of his friends and from Buffalo, New York (Go Bills!), and had been coming to the West for a few years. Before he turned around, we both saw a mom and baby moose. Later, I saw a young bull up the trail alongside the alpine lake.
At the end of the trial, I made another friend - I guess that might be where I find my future husband, hiking on trails, camera in hand.
